Aimee is right, I think I can make a swirl now! I didn't realize it was a two step process. And - Molly is right also, the color is not ugly, it's pretty.
I am definitley a newbie here. But I had no idea you were supposed to pipe two swirls for a cupcake. No wonder mine are always so flat! Thank...and you are adorable. Your tut is almost like watching a magic show.
